Older Sketches

A few older sketches from last year (2006) to check out.

Sketchbook Post #3

New sketches to check out. Check out "WoodBoard Underpants", he's funny...looking. Also, more watercolor sketches. Trying some new ideas, where I put some color down and then draw over them to see what I can come up with. Got the idea from this guy named elio. Check out what he does: Elio and see Elio in action on youtube.com elio drawing 1 and elio drawing 2. Got to love the way he holds his pencil too.

Little Ghosty

Playing around with some new watercolors I just got. Came up with cute little ghosty whosty just saying "hello".

Sketchbook Post #1

Some recent drawings from my sketchbook. I love doing these quick sketches and throwing some watercolor over them. It changes them and bring's them more to life. I've always had a fondness for the way rough sketches look versus seeing something that's all clean and perfect. Seeing the thinking behind what the artist was working on always makes the final piece that much more special in the end.

Now What?

Soon after "The Vessel" piece I worked up this little piece in time for Halloween last year. I think the image tells the story very well about these two little kids experiencing what happens after eating too much candy after trick or treating. Halloween happens to be my favorite time of the year and this is one of my favorite pieces I've done. I hope to do more like this in the near future.

The Vessel

A birthday gift for a friend last Fall 2006. I ended up digitally coloring this piece in photoshop using the original pencil sketch. Printing it out and framing it up. I was very pleased with the end results and so was my friend.

Running Troll

This is a study piece for a story my mother wrote years ago and was never developed. The working title of the story is called "The Fairy & The Troll". I hope to actually finish this project some day. I have a couple other sketches I'll post soon. I'll continue to post more of this project as they get worked on. Stay tuned.

Welcome to Junkyland!

Hey, All...

Welcome to my first blog ever. I hope to use this site as a way for me to get my sketches out there for all to see and get feedback. So... please feel free to leave comments and share your ideas. I truely do hope I can stay on top of it and actually have new updates on a weekly bases. Yeah right, we'll see how that goes.

Also, with this blog I plan to keep a record of new personal projects from sketches to finished pieces. Well, let's get the show on the road. Beep-beep!!!
